Client's Request
The homeowner approached us with a clear vision: to create a modern Muji-inspired home that could comfortably accommodate multiple generations under one roof. Their priority was a space grounded in Muji’s signature simplicity and minimalism, yet not devoid of character or visual impact. They wanted the home to feel calming, functional, and aesthetically refined—while remaining warm and inviting for everyone in the family.
What we did
To achieve this balance, we designed the common areas around the core principles of modern Muji: clean lines, natural textures, thoughtful storage, and a soft, neutral palette. These spaces showcase the quiet elegance of Muji design while subtly reflecting the family’s lifestyle—flexible layouts for gatherings, durable materials for daily use, and intentional zones that promote connection as well as personal downtime.
Each bedroom was then crafted with its own unique colour theme, tailored to the personality and needs of its occupant. While maintaining the overall Muji ethos, we introduced gentle variations in tone and texture to give each room its own identity without disrupting the home’s cohesive design language.
The final result is a serene, timeless, and multi-generational home where simplicity meets meaningful design.
